Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay is being dubbed ‘McTerminator’ after showing off his ripped physique on Instagram. The 23-year-old is looking in great shape during lockdown, clearly not resting on his laurels despite the lack of football.Last month McTominay ran 5km in 16 minutes and one second, which is utterly ridiculous. It’s a time that his teammate Daniel James doesn’t believe will be beaten by the United squad."A lot of the boys are going outside, doing runs and sending them in. It's a competition to get the best 5k time,” James said, per the Daily Mail.

"It's been good, nice and competitive still.

"Scott is winning at the moment and I don't think anyone is going to top it."

McTominay took to Instagram on Saturday to show off his physique and it doesn’t look like he’s skipped a single workout.

McTominay’s transformation has been remarkable. At the start of 2015, he was only 5ft 6ins and United’s youth coaches weren’t convinced he would make it at the highest level.

But after a growth spurt he shot up to 6ft 4ins and is now a first-team regular under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

The Scotland international spoke about his physical development in an interview with Man United’s official website in 2018.

“It's just more of the fact that my body was not ready at all," he said, per SI

"Warren and Paul McGuinness were really good with me at that time, nurturing me and putting me in and out of training sessions while not giving me so much game time.

"I'm at the height I am now and I want to keep going this season and get as much game time as I possibly can. I always knew I was going to be quite tall but maybe not that tall.”
