Erling Haaland is being compared to Zlatan Ibrahimovic after post-match interview

It just had to be wonderkid Erling Braut Haaland who would score the first goal of Bundesliga’s return to action following the coronavirus pandemic, didn’t it?

In strange scenes at the Signal Iduna Park, Borussia Dortmund ran out 4-0 winners at the Revierderby to move to within one point of Bayern Munich having played a game more.

There was socially distanced celebrations, a socially distanced substitutes bench and, of course, no fans inside the stadium.

Everything has changed. But not Haaland’s goalscoring form.

After scoring 28 goals in 22 appearances for Red Bull Salzburg at the start of the season, the Norwegian has now got 13 in 12 for Dortmund.

The 19-year-old is destined for the very top of the game.

And it seems he has the attitude and mentality to make it.

Previously, we’ve seen the youngster give rather bizarre interviews and that happened once again following Dortmund’s win against Schalke.

The reporter asked Haaland why he and his teammates went to the ‘empty Yellow Wall’ to applaud an empty stand to which he replied: “Why not?”

“Is there a kind of message you’d like to send out?” The reporter asked again.

“Yes,” came the reply from Haaland.

“Would you tell us the message?”

“To my fans,” Haaland simply said.

The reporter then felt the need to have to answer his own question by saying “They’re everything to you and Dortmund?”

“It is,” Haaland said before leaving the interview swiftly.

Take a look at the awkward interview:

It led to football fans instantly comparing Haaland to the legendary Zlatan – who has often given bizarre and awkward interviews in the past.

“Mans moving like Zlatan out here…” one replied.

Another added: “Ibrahimovic savage in the making.”

“Kid is gonna become a Ibrahimovic,” one fan wrote.

A fourth said: “Hes giving me haaard ibra vibes. We need a player like this.”

While another simply replied with a GIF of the legendary Swede.

Haaland is well on his way on emulating Zlatan on the pitch and it seems he’s taking lessons from him off the pitch too.
