Barcelona said goodbye to the legendary Andres Iniesta on May 20, 2018.

He took his final steps on the Camp Nou turf two years ago, and when he was subbed off in the 82nd minute, there wasn't a dry eye in the house.

After 17 magnificent years with the Blaugrana, a legend departed and his legacy began.

Barca held a ceremony to celebrate their midfielder at full-time.

Iniesta's teammates crowded around him and threw him up in the air, celebrating his incredible career.

Many were in tears as he delivered a goodbye speech before embracing every member of the squad and backroom staff, thanking them for their service.

With his departure came heartbreak and what Iniesta did after everybody else went home summed up just how hard it was to leave.

Now famous pictures show him sitting alone in the centre circle at Camp Nou until the early hours of the morning, soaking in his surroundings one last time.

Iniesta is a Barca legend

He was still on the pitch until 1 am... We're not crying, you're crying!

The photos are just incredible. Of course, Iniesta has gone on to play for Vissel Kobe in Japan, but it's his incredible achievements at Barca that fans will always remember.

In 16 seasons the Spaniard won nine La Liga titles, four Champions Leagues, six Copa del Rey trophies, three Super Cups and three Club World Cups.

Iniesta won it all at Barca

His performances for Barca earned him 131 international caps and Iniesta was a two time European Champion and of course, a key part of the Spain squad that won the 2010 World Cup.

One day, Iniesta may return to his boyhood club to take on a different role. So many legends do, of course.

But those images of him sitting alone on the pitch after his final appearance are just iconic. It's hard to believe Barcelona have already been without him for two years!
