So much was expected of Ousmane Dembele when he signed for Barcelona from Dortmund for a deal worth £135m in 2017.

At the time, he was just 20 years old and one of the most promising youngsters in the world.

There was a lot of excitement surrounding his transfer and many believed he would fill the void left by Neymar's departure.

However, Dembele's time at Barca has been a bit of a nightmare.

He suffered with numerous injuries in his first campaign with the club, limiting him to just 23 appearances.

The Frenchman didn't impress when he was on the pitch either, scoring just four goals.

Dembele was better in his second season, scoring 14 goals in 43 games, but injury problems have plagued him again this season.

In 2019/20, Dembele has scored just one goal in nine games. He underwent surgery on his hamstring in February, which has ended his season.

Dembele has also raised eyebrows with some of his actions off the pitch. He has been accused of having a gaming addiction, something that caused him to miss training in 2018.

Now 23, it appears his future may lie elsewhere.

That's because, according to TMW per Sport, Barcelona are willing to sell Dembele.

Dembele wants to stay at the club and fulfil his contract but Barcelona want to get him off the wage bill.

They are so desperate to get rid of him that they are said to be willing to sell him for just £37m. Wow.

If that is true, Barcelona are willing to sell him for £98m less than what they paid for him three years ago.

PSG are said to be interested and could try and sign him in the summer.

Dembele has been a failure at Barcelona and it's not surprising that they have run out of patience.

But they should be asking for more than £37m for a player of his talent. Despite the injuries, Dembele is still young and has the potential to be one of the best players in the world.

At 23, he still has more than enough time to reach his potential. If Barca do sell him for £37m, whoever buys him would be getting a bargain if he can stay injury free.
