WWE superstar Roman Reigns turns 35 today, and we thought it would be the perfect time to pay tribute to the man who splits the entire WWE Universe.
Love him or hate him, you have to respect what 'The Big Dog' has done for the company ever since his arrival to the main roster eight years ago in 2012.
Arriving as one third of 'The Shield', alongside Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, it was clear from the very get go that Reigns would be THE guy out of the three.
Constant stories have emerged from former superstars such as CM Punk and Ryback addressing the fact that Vince McMahon wanted Reigns to look strong and wanted him to be the one to go over out of the three members.
Although it was eventually Rollins who split the iconic stable up, it was Reigns who was still the guy in the eyes of McMahon, and boy did he make it clear.
Reigns' booking ever since he's been a singles competitor has been strong, maybe too strong at times, and that is why a lot of fans, and we mean a lot, choose to boo him and hate him.
It felt like the man was forced down our throat and was always shoehorned into the main event of WrestleMania even though others deserved said spot.
We've seen Reigns vs Triple H numerous times. We've seen Reigns vs Brock Lesnar numerous times.
It just felt like we had seen enough of Roman Reigns.
BUT, having said that, although the booking of him may have been questionable, his performances inside the ring and on the microphone have been a constant.
He's a top-class performer and never fails to put on shows. He's the reason a lot of people go to shows. He's this generation's John Cena, just not as big yet.
The younger generation of fans adore Reigns, whilst the older generation seem to dislike him, much like it has been with Cena throughout the years.
One thing is for sure, though, he's a top-draw player, and there's a reason why Vince loves him so much.
The title reigns speak for themselves as well. He's already won seven belts since being on the main roster, and he's a Grand Slam champion. He's also won the Royal Rumble.
He's got a resume in just eight years that a lot of superstars dream of having their entire career.
It's just no the in-ring work that we should applaud Reigns for, however. He does A LOT of charity work for WWE and for leukaemia charities, and for that, we must salute him.
Reigns had his own personal battle with illness, and he's battled through more than once.
He's already got a Hall of Fame career whether you like it or not, and on his birthday, it's time to pay tribute to him.
He's 'The Big Dog', and it's his yard now.
