Sevilla vs Real Betis could be La Liga’s return match as the Spanish league looks set to resume the season next month.

June 12 is the proposed return date, with games played every day for six weeks and the season completed by the end of July.

Teams have returned to training this week, with La Liga president Javier Tebas saying the risk of coronavirus to players during games as “virtually non-existent”.

“If we all follow the health rules I don’t think we’re going to have any problem,” Tebas said in a specially-arranged TV programme, per The Guardian.

“The idea is to finish on 31 July and that August can be left for European competitions. Those dates can [then] also be used for the play-offs [in Spain].”

Barcelona lead the way with a two-point advantage over Real Madrid and it certainly looks like Lionel Messi is raring to go.

A clip of the Argentinian magician in training has emerged on social media and it shows Messi hasn’t lost it.

He tracks back and wins the ball with a fine tackle before dancing around Marc-André ter Stegen and slotting the ball away.

Even in training, he’s incredible.

Messi isn’t just eyeing yet another La Liga title.

The 32-year-old currently leads the way in the Spanish scoring charts with 19 goals, five ahead of Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema.

Based on the above footage, it’s hard to see how anyone can stop Messi from winning another Pichichi Trophy.
