The makers behind 'Call of Duty' have certainly kept themselves busy during this uncomfortable time under the cloud of a global pandemic by dropping a trailer this week.
The new trailer released was to hype 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare' and Season 4 of 'Warzone'.
The fourth Season will begin on Wednesday, June 3 on all formats: PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.
The trailer, labelled “The Story So Far,” has confirmed that Captain Price is set to be the new Operator for Season 4, for players who intend to pick up the new Battle Pass.
The short video details a casting eye over the entire 'Modern Warfare' story, with a little teaser at the end for Season 4.
A large hint is dropped, potentially that there is “something wrong in Verdansk”.
The images depict both Price and Kyle as Operators and Price announced as the main man.
New features are announced within the video, such as potential new weapons. The Vector and potentially the Galil are set to be included.
Further teasing was throughout, and Season 4’s logo at the very end of the trailer appears to lead us down the path of a new map for the game.
The map in question? Scrapyard from 'Modern Warfare 2'. With the voiceover telling us, “this story is far from over.”
'Call of Duty' made its long-awaited return to the 'Modern Warfare' title in 2019 after eight years away.
This was followed in March with the Battle Royale additions to the game, subtitled 'Warzone', of which Activision has announced as of May 5, there have been well in excess of 60 million downloads.
It was a return to the Battle Royale format that had been popularised by games such as 'Fortnite' and 'PUBG'.
Activision, following the swell of popularity for the mode in the mid-2010s, released ‘Blackout’ mode as part of their 2018 release 'Call of Duty: Black Ops 4'.
The franchise is reportedly set to delve into the Cold War-theme, to be released later on this year.
