Steven Gerrard celebrates his 40th birthday today.The Liverpool legend did so much for the club during his spell.He made his debut in 1998 and went on to play 710 times in his 17-year spell.He left in 2015 having guided the club to nine major titles, including the Champions League in 2005 and the FA Cup in 2006.Gerrard is one of the best midfielders in Premier League history and also one of the best players in Liverpool's history.Liverpool's players and staff wanted to show how much Gerrard means to them in training today.And so, they did that by wishing him a happy birthday in a variety of languages.That is despite Gerrard not being in attendance.Watch the video below:

That is pure class and a lovely tribute to a player who gave his all for so long.

In total, they sang happy birthday to Gerrard in 12 different languages including Portuguese, English and Dutch.

Gerrard took to Instagram to express his thanks to the players and staff.

"Wow thanks so much ❤️ @liverpoolfc what a club 👏40👴🏻😎"

Gerrard recently spoke about his love for his former side.

“Liverpool will always be my team, I don’t think anyone would argue against me with that,” he said, per talkSPORT.

“I was there for many, many years, all the way through and I had a good career there. I’ve supported them from the day I left and I’ll always support them and back them.

“The fans make a club and the fans at Liverpool are special, they always have been with me and that’s where we get our connection from.
