Jadon Sancho is one of the most talented youngsters in European football.

The 20-year-old has shone in Germany in the past two-and-a-half seasons and has led the way in young English talents moving abroad to further their development.

Pre-coronavirus, Sancho would almost certainly have left Borussia Dortmund this summer in a big-money move. But even with the global pandemic and the transfer market being turned upside down, don’t be surprised if clubs are still more than willing to pay a substantial fee for the generational talent.

In his 26 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, Sancho has scored 14 goals and assisted a further 17. Incredible numbers for a player who only turned 20 in March.

But in the three matches since the Bundesliga has returned, Sancho has had to make do with a place on the bench in each of them as he returns from a calf injury.

He will be hoping to return to the starting line-up when Dortmund travel to bottom-placed Paderborn on Sunday as Lucien Favre’s side look to bounce back from their defeat to Bayern Munich.

And on Saturday, there was something a little bit different about Sancho’s appearance.

Not only did he have a new haircut but the winger was seen with new tattoos featuring The Simpson family and Sonic the Hedgehog. The tattoos are on his right arm, above an image of Spiderman.

Brilliant.

On his left arm, there is a heartbreaking tattoo featuring a poem in tribute to his younger brother who died when Sancho was just five.

"All I want is to make him proud. He is my inspiration,” Sancho revealed in 2019.

"The poem reads: 'You and me will stay together, you made us happy, you brought us joy, you were a special baby boy.

"I couldn't wait till you grew up, teach you football and win the cup. But you're gone what can I do? Baby brother, we love you."

Beautiful.
