The title race in Germany is all but over.After Bayern Munich beat Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday, the Bavarians stretched their lead at the top of the table to seven points.And they had the chance to make that 10 points on Saturday evening as they hosted relegation-threatened Fortuna Dusseldorf before Dortmund travel to Paderborn on Sunday.And Bayern did just that - and in style.They ran out 5-0 winners as they edged ever closer to yet another Bundesliga title.Robert Lewandowski - who hadn’t scored against Fortuna before kick-off - bagged two but the star of the show, yet again, was left-back Alphonso Davies.The Canadian has burst onto the scene this season, showing off his ridiculous pace and huge potential.Against Dortmund, he went viral for reaching 35.3km/h in a sprint to dispossess Erling Haaland.
It led to a rather humorous post-match interview from Thomas Muller.
But, incredibly, Davies went and exceeded that speed against Fortuna.
He reached 35.4km/h chasing back an opponent to win back the ball. Better still, Bayern went on to take a 1-0 lead thanks to Davies recovering possession.
He really is unbelievably quick.
Davies even got himself on the scoresheet later in the match as he bundled his way through three defenders to make it 5-0.
Davies was signed from MLS side Vancouver Whitecaps in the summer of 2018 and his story to become possibly the best left-back in world football has been rather incredible.
Davies' parents, both from Liberia, fled the country during the second Liberian Civil war. They fled to Ghana, where Davies was born in a refugee camp in 2000. They eventually moved on to Canada when Davies was just five, where he started playing football signing for Vancouver Whitecaps at the age of 14.
And just five years later, he's become a quite incredible footballer for one of the best sides in the world.
