The 50 dirtiest players in Premier League history have been named (25-1)

25= Steve Sidwell – 338

338 fouls in just 200 matches. Well played.

25= Sebastian Larsson – 338

Only sent off once but Larsson loved a foul.

24. Craig Gardner – 339

Gardner gave away 339 free-kicks during his time at West Brom, Sunderland, Birmingham and Aston Villa.

23. Pablo Zabaleta – 350

The right-back picked up 68 yellow cards and four red cards during his 350 fouls for Manchester City and West Ham.

22. Christian Benteke – 351

A lot more fouls than goals, that’s for sure.

21. James McArthur – 352

A serial founder for Wigan and Crystal Palace.

19= Robert Huth – 355

One of the hardest players the Premier League has ever seen. If he fouls you, it’s going to hurt.

19= Mohamed Diame – 355

Loved picked up a standard yellow card when trying to be a defensive midfielder for struggling sides such as Newcastle, Hull, West Ham and Wigan.

18. Wayne Rooney – 368

Fewer fouls than appearances but Rooney was certainly hot-headed at times.

17. Mousa Dembele – 371

Those long legs just couldn’t help getting tangled up and bringing down players.

16. Mark Noble – 376

In 375 appearances, Noble has made 376 fouls. Great consistency.

15. Bobby Zamora – 377

Just 20 yellow cards but Zamora clearly enjoyed fouling defenders.

14. Mikel Arteta – 380

Some say Arteta was the mastermind being the tactical foul at Man City. It all makes sense now…

13. Shane Long – 390

Never been sent off but Long loves a cheeky foul. Sly.

12. Ashley Young – 397

Only been sent off twice during his career but often picked up bookings towards the end of his Manchester United time at left-back.

11. Carlton Cole – 401

Not the most aggressive but obviously upset the referee when challenging for the ball on plenty of occasions.

10. Tim Cahill – 402

Just look at his celebration.

9. Lucas Leiva – 410

The fact he was incredibly slow, Lucas’ 410 fouls in 247 games isn’t too surprising.

8. Lee Cattermole – 422

Of course. The former Sunderland man committed 422 fouls, picked up 88 yellows and seven red cards in 271 Premier League appearances

7. Peter Crouch – 425

The  6ft 7in striker just couldn’t help giving away free-kicks.

6. Antonio Valencia – 426

Valencia was very physical during his time at Man Utd and Wigan.

5. James Milner – 434

He’s made plenty of Premier League appearances to be fair with Leeds, Newcastle, Aston Villa, Manchester City and now Liverpool.

4. Gabriel Agbonlahor – 439

Remember that tackle on One Direction’s Louis Tomlinson during a charity match?

3. Marouane Fellaini – 588

How many of those fouls were committed by a flailing elbow?

2. Kevin Davies – 605

The same applies to Davies.

1. Gareth Barry – 633

The most Premier League appearances and, as a defensive midfielder, naturally the most fouls. He’s only been sent off six times, to be fair. Although he has picked up 117 yellow cards. Could he be back committed fouls in the Premier League next season?
