Agent trying to convince Spurs to make move for Morgan Sanson

Morgan Sanson

Tottenham Hotspur may be tempted to make a move for Marseille’s Morgan Sanson this summer if agent Pini Zahavi has anything to do with it, per L’Equipe via Sport Witness.

The Ligue 1 club are set to sell a number of stars this summer as they face financial difficulties due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

They are subsequently looking to alert Premier League clubs to the availability of some of their star names, per the report, and agent Zahavi has been tasked with brokering a deal that would take Sanson to England.

As a result, Spurs, Everton, and Arsenal have been named as potential destinations, though Sanson is said to be keen to play in the Champions League, a competition that Marseille have actually qualified for.

Thus far this season, the 25-year-old has made 30 appearances in all competitions, scoring five goals and registering five assists, per Transfermarkt

Sanson has also won 10 caps for the France Under-21 side, scoring two goals at international level, and has previously been linked with a move to West Ham; it was even claimed that the Hammers made a bid for the midfielder in the January transfer window, per Le10 Sport via Sport Witness

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Spurs chairman Daniel Levy ought to ignore Zahavi’s call, here.

Sanson has hardly set Ligue 1 alight during his time with Marseille.

He has made 138 appearances for the club in total, per Transfermarkt, and has scored 23 goals during that period – five of which came this season – and registered 19 assists.

While he is a central midfielder, it took him 10 games to score this season, while he laid on just one assist in his first 13 games.

That is without mentioning the fact that there are a number of attacking midfielders already at Jose Mourinho’s disposal; the likes of Giovani Lo Celso, Dele Alli, Steven Bergwijn, Erik Lamela, and Gedson Fernandes can all play behind striker Harry Kane.

Sanson isn’t any better than the majority of those players; he should be avoided at all costs.
