UFC star Jon Jones made the headlines on Sunday night when he confronted vandals in his adopted home of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Now, the 32-year-old has gone one step further in his efforts to look after the city, rounding up a team to help clean the streets and rebuild local businesses.A video is doing the rounds on social media showing Jones and his group of volunteers looking for people who have been affected by the ongoing riots, which were sparked by the death of George Floyd while in police custody last week.Footage emerged showing a police officer kneeling on Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes, sparking worldwide campaigns for an end to injustice against black people.Jones recently wrote on his Instagram page: “Is this s*** even about George Floyd anymore?!? Why the f*** are you punk ass teenagers destroying our cities!??"As a young black man trust me I'm frustrated as well but this is not the way, we are starting to make a bad situation worse.“If you really got love for your city (505), protect your s***. All you old heads need to speak up, call your young family members and tell them to come home tonight."Earlier in the week, the American shocked the world by claiming he is vacating his light-heavyweight title following a dispute with UFC president Dana White. The disagreement was reportedly over a potential super-fight between Jones and Francis Ngannou, with ‘Bones’ stepping up to heavyweight.

White claims the fighter had asked for up to £24 million to make the bout happen.

Jones has been out of action since defending his title against Dominick Reyes at UFC 247 back in February.

Reports suggest he is also interested in taking on middleweight champion Israel Adesanya.
