Manchester United will not offer Alexis Sanchez to Borussia Dortmund as part of a deal to sign Jadon Sancho, according to the Daily Express.
Reports emerged last week suggesting that the 31-year-old outcast would be used as a bargaining chip in the Red Devils' attempts to sign the 20-year-old England international.
However this latest report claims that this isn't the case.
Sanchez's days at Old Trafford appear to be numbered after a less-than impressive spell in the North West following his move from Arsenal in 2018.
After a disappointing 18 months the Chilean international completed a season-long loan switch to Inter Milan where he has played under Antonio Conte this term.
However the Italian side appear unlikely to make his loan switch into a permanent arrangement.
Man United's pursuit of Jadon Sancho only strengthens the case that Sanchez could be allowed to move on, but with his salary packet among the most expensive in the Premier League it remains to be seen if anyone will be willing to make a move for the forward.
GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...
Manchester United seem determined to sign Jadon Sancho, but that in turn means that the writing is on the wall for Alexis Sanchez.
His controversial move to Old Trafford was expected to see him reach another level in English football, but the 31-year-old just hasn't been able to replicate the form that he showed while at Arsenal.
With his best years behind him and a significant wage packet under his belt, it makes things difficult for Man United who will be keen to move the Chilean on this summer.
Only a few clubs have the deep pockets required to meet Sanchez's demands, but given his lack of form over the last two seasons there continues to be a huge question mark over whether anyone would be willing to take a punt on him.
A move away seems to be the best options for all involved, but at the end of the day money talks and that's likely to be what stands in the way of a potential departure.
