Celtic have been handed a significant boost in their hopes of re-signing Fraser Forster from Southampton.
According to Read Celtic, the Bhoys have been given the green light to bring the 32-year-old back to Celtic Park next term.
Sources have reportedly said that Forster is expected to rejoin Celtic on another loan deal for the duration of the new campaign.
All parties are said to be keen on striking a deal which could involve an option for a permanent deal at the end of next season.
Striking a deal so early would be a massive boost for Neil Lennon who is prioritising a move for Fraser Forster a priority for the club.
While a deal is far from done at this stage, it certainly is a strong indication that an agreement could be done sooner rather than later.
GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...
A permanent move for Fraser Forster is a no-brainer for me.
After spending the best part of five years at Celtic Park the 32-year-old knows exactly what it takes to be a success with the club, and the fans know that.
While he may be in the autumn of his career, Forster is likely to still have a few good years left in him and that means that Celtic could reap the benefits of his experience for several seasons to come.
It will be a big ask to compete with the finances on offer in the Premier League, but given his affinity for the club it could prove to be a shrewd move to sign him up.News Now - Sport News
