The 2002 World Cup was a wonderful edition of football's biggest and best tournament.
Japan and South Korea were the host nations and they put on a brilliant spectacle out in Asia, with Brazil going on to secure the crown once again.
Ronaldo's return to the top-level after his injury woes at Inter Milan was a sight to behold, with the legendary striker finishing the competition with eight goals to his name.
Then you had both Turkey and South Korea shocking the world by making the semi-finals of the tournament.
And, of course, those in England will remember being sat in their school assembly hall early in the morning watching David Seaman flap at Ronaldinho's long-range free-kick.
So many memories, but one incident from that World Cup that will never be forgotten involved another Brazilian superstar - Rivaldo.
The Barcelona legend was at his brilliant best out in the Far East, but during the Selecao's group game against Turkey he well and truly soured his glowing reputation.
Rivaldo decided to take play-acting to a whole new level, pathetically clutching his face by the corner flag after Hakan Unsal petulantly booted the ball at his leg.
It's been exactly 18 years since the Brazilian's Oscar-worthy collapse to the floor, time flies eh?
Amazingly, the referee fell for Rivaldo's trick, sending Unsal for an early bath with his second yellow card of the game and reducing Turkey to nine-men.
It was both hilarious and despicable from one of the world's greatest ever players and he was duly fined by FIFA in the aftermath.
After the game itself, Rivaldo was surprisingly candid in his post-match interview, saying: “No, the ball did not hit me in the face, but the Turkish player shouldn’t have done that in the first place. So the ball touched my leg and not my head but the other player was still in the wrong. I said sorry to him, but these things happen in football.”
Imagine blaming Unsal!
The Turkish defender was no doubt irritated with the suspect refereeing throughout the game, which saw Rivaldo convert a controversial late penalty to seal a 2-1 comeback win for Brazil.
Former Aston Villa defender Alpay was deservedly given his marching orders for hauling down Luizao, but the incident occurred just outside the box.
