Matt Riddle was called up to WWE's main roster last week.

He'll now perform on the SmackDown brand, having spent just under two years in the developmental territory, NXT.

But even before arriving in WWE, 'The Original Bro' as he's now known, had quite a reputation already.

Riddle is an accomplished MMA fighter and had stints with the UFC and Bellator before swapping the Octagon for the squared circle.

He broke into combat sport through The Ultimate Fighter tournament in 2008 and never looked back.

That debut, of course, came well over a decade ago. Now, Riddle is almost unrecognisable from his early MMA years.

Since arriving in WWE, he's massively bulked up.

Check out some images from his time in UFC, compared to his new physique in WWE:

That's absolutely crazy.

According to Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful, Riddle weighed in at 216lbs for his final NXT match on May 27.

For context, he has previously fought at 170lbs at times during his MMA career. That's a quite ridiculous 46lb bulk-up for WWE

Now Riddle has arrived on the main roster, wrestling fans are excited to see how he'll be used.

In NXT, the former MMA star quickly became a fan favourite, feuding with the likes of  Velveteen Dream and Adam Cole, before forming a very popular tag team with Pete Dunne.

His final match for the Yellow Brand came last week against Timothy Thatcher when the pair battled it out in an MMA-style 'Fight Pit' gimmick match.

Riddle's final match on NXT was in a cage

Riddle lost by technical submission and went out on his back - as wrestlers traditionally do - before being announced as SmackDown's latest acquisition.

There's plenty of potential for a few dream matches, with the likes of Sami Zayn, Cesaro and Dolph Ziggler all on the same show. Hopefully, WWE won't waste their latest call up.
