Celtic could be set for a summer windfall as interest in former star Moussa Dembele heats up.

Reports from The Telegraph claim that the striker is looking to push through a move away from Lyon this summer, with the Premier League his likely destination.

Arsenal and Manchester United are both said to be keen, while Chelsea's previous interest appears to have now cooled.

Dembele arrived in France in 2018 and has enjoyed an excellent spell in Ligue 1.

However the 23-year-old is now looking for a move to one of Europe's elite clubs as he looks to ply his trade at the highest level.

Reports suggest that Lyon value the striker as highly as £50million - something which will be great news to Dembele's former club, Celtic.

The Bhoys inserted a sell-on clause into the deal that took him to Lyon two years ago, meaning that should a deal go through then they'd be handed a sizeable slice of the transfer fee.

The exact amount of that sell-on is not yet known, however I'm sure that fans around Celtic Park will be praying for a substantial windfall.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

What a boost this would be for Neil Lennon's side.

Everyone knew that Moussa Dembele was a talented young player when he lit of Celtic Park a few years ago and it seems that the Bhoys could be about to benefit from his continued development.

Celtic played a huge part in helping him to reach his potential, and as such it's only right that they should be rewarded financially.

However the credit has to go to the Celtic hierarchy who appear to have done a cracking job in negotiating his exit.

Losing such a key player is always a blow, but the fact that they'll now benefit further from allowing him to leave could mean a big boost to the club's coffers as they prepare for the new season.
