We know that their next confrontation will take place in the boxing ring, but long-time rivals Eddie Hall and Hafthor "Thor" Bjornsson have directly competed against one another many times on the professional strongman circuit.

A recently compiled YouTube video uploaded to the "TearItDown" account shows how Hall and Bjornsson - best known for playing Gregor "The Mountain" Clegane in the hit-TV series Game of Thrones - have fared when going head-to-head throughout their careers.

Bjornsson bests Hall with relative ease in the first clip, where he won the Flip and Drag event at the 2017 Europe's Strongest Man event. The Icelandic giant has similar success over Hall in the second meeting included in the video.

Hall, though, is shown dominating Bjornsson during the Atlas Stones event in the 2015 World's Strongest Man final, delivering a herculean effort to outspeed Bjornsson to the five stone finishing mark.

Bjornsson will, undoubtedly, not have been happy with that result - and gained a measure of revenge when he beat Hall in the same event two years later, managing to lift all five stones in just 17.54 seconds! The duo even embrace after the event, something that is strange to see today!

"Thor" shows the true extent of his power in the final clip of the compilation, taken from Kettlebell Throw event the 2016 World's Strongest Man final. Hall hoisted five kettle bells over the bar in what was a credible effort.

However, Hall's throws were often just clearing the 4.8 metre bar. Bjornsson, by contrast, cleared the required mark with ease on his first five throws, launching the hefty weights like they barely bothered him. Bjornsson would struggle with the final two weights due to technique issues, but his raw strength really was something to behold in the early stages of his run.

Things went sour for the pair's relationship after Hall won the 2017 World's Strongest Man competition. Bjornsson accused Hall of cheating to win the championship - and the two have been rivals ever since.

On past performance, Bjornsson has an edge over Hall. However, all bets will be off when the two men lace up the gloves for their boxing match next year.

Will the sheer power of "The Mountain" win the day? Or can Eddie Hall find a way to dig down and outwork his fierce adversary? It will be a clash not to be missed!
