Adam Lallana is closing in on a move to Leicester City, according to journalist Nicolo Schira.

The Liverpool midfielder’s contract expires at the end of the season and he will be able to move on a free transfer once the window opens.

As a result, he is said to be in talks with the Foxes over a possible switch as he looks to remain in the Premier League.

Lallana has somewhat struggled for game time this season, making just three starts in the Premier League under Jurgen Klopp.

Schira claims that Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has begun negotiations with the former Southampton man and a deal may well be sealed soon.

Lallana has been a loyal servant to the Reds, making 178 appearances in total, scoring 22 goals and registering 22 assists.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Lallana is exactly the type of character that Rodgers loves.

A genuinely versatile presence who can play in attacking midfield, central midfield or even on the right flank, Lallana is an excellent squad option and would provide back-up to James Maddison in that No.10 role.

He is 32 and, of course, one has to wonder about his longevity at the top level, but even still, making a move for him makes sense, particularly with no fee attached.

He will strengthen a squad that is on course to qualify for the Champions League and, really, that is all one can ask for from such a purchase.
