Chelsea are on the brink of completing a deal to sign Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

According to reports, the Blues are closing in on a deal to sign the 24-year-old striker, who has a release clause of £49.4 million.

Werner is enjoying a terrific season in the Bundesliga, netting 25 goals in 29 appearances for Leipzig, and Chelsea faced competition to get him.

Liverpool were heavily linked with a move but pulled out due to “financial reasons”, according to journalist Jan Aage Fjortoft.

It means that Werner will join Hakim Ziyech at Stamford Bridge next season and Chelsea supporters are beginning to get very excited.

A video has emerged that visualises Werner at Chelsea and it suggests the Germany international will fit right in at the club.

If Werner can link up well with the likes of Callum Hudson-Odoi, Mason Mount and co., then Chelsea will be rolling.

At GIVEMESPORT we’ve identified three possible ways Chelsea could line up next season with Werner and Ziyech in the team.

The first is a 4-3-3 system with Werner on the left, Ziyech on the right and Tammy Abraham up front.

In the second, Chelsea opt for a 4-2-3-1 formation with Werner as the striker and Mount in the No.10 role.

In the third, Lampard goes with both Werner and Abraham up front with Ziyech behind them.

It remains to be seen where Liverpool go from here.

A natural goalscorer like Werner is a requirement for Klopp but the club were unwilling to part ways with nearly £50m to sign him.

Chelsea's transfer ban last summer has left them with more to spend this time around and they're not wasting any time in splashing the cash.
