Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Dean Henderson from Manchester United in the summer transfer window, per The Sun (page 43, print edition, 5th June 2020), via SheffieldUnited.news.
The 23-year-old has spent the season on loan at Sheffield United, enjoying a superb campaign as Chris Wilder’s side push for European qualification.
Indeed, only Nick Pope at Burnley has kept more clean sheets in the Premier League this season and the report states that Spurs could make a move to try to take the goalkeeper to north London.
A bid of £22 million is mooted but it remains to be seen if the Blades will attempt to rival that attempt to secure Henderson’s signature, or if United will be keen to keep him as back-up to their current No.1 David De Gea.
There is also the possibility that another loan deal could be up United’s street, given that the goalkeeper has been in such exceptional form and has even earned a call-up to the England squad.

This has to be taken with a pinch of salt initially.
The COVID-19 pandemic has thrown many things up in the air, not least the ability of major clubs to sign players for big fees in the summer transfer window.
Henderson, though, would be a top signing for Spurs, who have not had to sign a new first-choice goalkeeper since 2012, when they snaffled Hugo Lloris away from Lyon.
Lloris is now 33 and has made some significant errors this season and last; bringing in competition for the France international is a solid idea, and could well lead to him being usurped as the club’s No.1.
A move for Henderson, then, makes sense; he’s English, has plenty of Premier League experience and is clearly a fantastic goalkeeper in his own right already.
It perhaps wouldn’t make much sense for United to sell him at such an early point in his development but if Spurs can convince them to do business, they’ll be securing themselves a truly excellent stopper.
