Conor McGregor’s performance against Jose Aldo at UFC 194 in December 2015 remains stunning to this day.13 seconds - 13! - was all it took for McGregor to beat Aldo after knocking the Brazilian unconscious with a left hook.“Nobody can take that left-hand shot,” McGregor said in the post-fight interview.“[Aldo's] powerful and he's fast. But precision beats power, and timing beats speed. And that’s what you saw there.”The Irishman has developed a reputation for predicting the outcome of his fights before they happen, which has earned him the nickname ‘Mystic Mac’.

But how about showcasing the exact punch that will defeat his opponent?

Well, a clip has gone viral on Twitter that shows McGregor practicing the left-hand strike that he used to down Aldo in the dressing room before the bout.

Remarkable.

Many fighters talk about visualising the win, or how they will react in certain situations.

And here’s McGregor rehearsing the short, sharp punch that will knock Aldo down just moments before it actually happened.

It remains to be seen what’s next for the Notorious inside the Octagon.

He had planned to be busy in 2020 and impressed in a 40-second win against Donald Cerrone at UFC 246 in January.

However, the Covid-19 pandemic affected his plans and UFC president Dana White believes McGregor should now wait for the UFC lightweight title to be unified before attempting to regain the belt.

“I think that the best thing for him - I’m not saying this is what’s going to happen - but in my opinion he lets this Gaethje-Khabib fight play out, then he fights the winner,” White said on Eddie Hearn and Tony Bellew’s Talk the Talk podcast. “I think that’s the smartest move for him.”

Whatever's next, you can be sure that all eyes will be on Mystic Mac.
