A ballsy move from one lucky punter payed off last night and paid off big time.

It paid off £130,000 to be exact after one man put a whopping £800,000 down on Amanda Nunes to get the victory at UFC 250.

It is now being touted as the largest bet ever placed on MMA.

The punter, whose name is Nick Bodanovich, took home $1 million, including the stake money after placing the bet.

Now we know what you're thinking... he placed £800k and only got back £130k... what's the point in that?! Well, Nunes' odds were 13/2 ON... she was heavy favourite!

Nunes left her opponent a bloody mess as she sought out a triumphant victory via points over Felicia Spencer, whose odds were pushed out to 9-2.

It was nothing but good news and sheer relief for the cock-sure gambler. William Hill told ESPN’s Ben Fawkes later in the night that it was the largest bet it has ever taken on an MMA event.

Nunes heard about the bet after the fight and touted it as “awesome”.

Nunes continued: “Now he’s very happy.

“He’ll probably, like, go and drink something. He should ask me to go with him.”

Two-weight champ Nunes, who also holds the bantamweight belt, is now the first fighter ever to successfully defend both belts at the same time with a dominating display in her unanimous decision victory.

Nunes is currently the first mum-to-be champion in UFC history – the South American, 32, is expecting a baby with her wife and fellow fighter Nina Ansaroff, who is carrying their child – due to give birth in September.

Nunes is surely one of, if not the, biggest names in the women's division today; she takes her unbeaten streak to new heights – having not been defeated since 2014.

It stands to reason, if there was ever a bet to be had, you can feel confident in Amanda Nunes delivering the goods.
