Who is the greatest player in Premier League history?

It’s a question that has been asked many times down the years. Especially in recent times with no Premier League football to actually watch.

Of course, there are many acceptable answers considering the amount of world-class player that have graced our league since its inception.

But the Mirror have attempted to answer the question once and for all.

They’ve produced a list of the Premier League’s 20 greatest ever players and ranked them from 20-1.

Let’s take a look at what they came up with:

20 | Vincent Kompany

Manchester City got a lot for the £8 million they paid of Kompany back in 2008.

Eleven years of incredible service saw the Belgian become a club legend, winning four Premier League titles.

19 | Dennis Bergkamp

Technically, Bergkamp is one of the greatest to have played the game and scorer of possibly the best goal the league has seen against Newcastle in 2002.

He finished with 87 goals in 315 Premier League appearances and three league titles.

18 | Luis Suarez

Suarez’s 2013/14 season is possibly the greatest individual campaign in the Premier League with 31 goals in 33 league games.

He was a controversial figure but he was an incredible striker.

17 | John Terry

From one controversial figure to another.

Terry was an incredible servant to Chelsea, playing almost 500 times in the league, winning five titles.

15 | David Beckham

It’s often forgotten just how good Beckham actually was. But six Premier League titles during his time at Old Trafford goes some way to explaining it.
