Stoke City boss Tony Pulis was full of praise for both sides after the 1-1 weekend draw against Chelsea.

The Potters flew out of the traps and took an early lead through Jonathan Walters strike, before Didier Drogba leveled for the Blues midway through the period.

Both sides hit the woodwork on a couple of occasions as they searched for the elusive winner, but Pulis was happy to take a point against their illustrious opponents despite arguably having the better of the chances.

"We had the chances to win it, but I have to say Chelsea are a great side. You have to give them credit because they have a massive Champions League game against Manchester United on Wednesday and I just thought their attitude was absolutely first class," Pulis told the media post-match.

"We had too many player, after we'd scored the goal, just sitting back and watching them pass. Second half we pushed onto them, get better quality balls to Kenwyne (Jones) and got more bodies up there. It made for a very entertaining game.

"I'm very pleased with our players because they put in a performance that gave us an opportunity and a chance to win the game."
