Tottenham Hotspur could make a move for Wolves striker Raul Jimenez this summer, according to Football Insider.

The Mexico international is 29 and the report states that manager Jose Mourinho rates him highly ahead of the summer transfer window.

Jimenez is said to be seen as a potential partner for Harry Kane in a new-look Spurs system; he would cost around £30 million.

While the COVID-19 pandemic has thrown many plans into the air this summer, Spurs are said to be focusing on cheaper deals and loans, though Football Insider claims that they would rip those plans up if they could secure Jimenez’s signature.

He has scored a total of 22 goals this season and provided 10 assists, netting in the 3-2 win over Mourinho’s men at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in March.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

This would be a top transfer.

Spurs are in desperate need of cover and support to Kane up front, with the England captain the only out-and-out striker in the squad.

They do have Troy Parrott, of course, but the Republic of Ireland international is only 18, so bringing in a player like Jimenez would be a step in the right direction.

He has experience in the Premier League, has scored goals at this level and would slot straight into a two-up system under Mourinho.

Of course, it remains to be seen if the club would be able to fund a £30m move but it is relatively small change for a player of such quality, and with such stats.

Spurs should be making him a priority this summer.
