Newcastle United supporters have been given a positive update on the club’s potential takeover by journalist Lee Ryder.
Reports emerged on Tuesday night that the Magpies had suffered a rather large setback in their bid to sell the club.
It was claimed that their £300m deal was in turmoil and struggling to pass Premier League checks, primarily because state piracy in Saudi Arabia has cost the league’s broadcast partners billions in revenue.
However, Ryder has now claimed that despite all of the negativity surrounding their attempts to buy into English football, PIF have not been put off.
He claims they are willing to hold their nerve and aren’t concerned by the two-month wait they’ve had to endure to see whether they can take the club off Mike Ashley’s hands.
After last night’s setback, this should be hugely encouraging to the Toon Army.

The sooner Newcastle get this over the line, the better.
This saga has gone on for too long now and in all fairness, it’s become rather tiresome. With Premier League football set to return in a week’s time, the last thing the players need is distractions at the top.
The longer this goes on, the larger you sense the distraction will be for Steve Bruce and co. Yet, just imagine the positivity if and when the takeover is complete.
After all, the riches that could come with the £300m deal are rumoured to be quite significant. The transfer window isn’t even open yet but Newcastle have been linked with moves for genuine world-class players.
The Magpies are apparently the only side interested in PSG’s all-time top scorer Edinson Cavani while Philippe Coutinho’s agent reportedly begun negotiations over a potential move to St James’ Park.
Where Newcastle end up when the takeover goes through remains to be seen, but surely they’ll be in a better place than they have been under Ashley’s stewardship.
