Leeds United have been dealt a big injury blow as preparations for the promotion run-in continue. The Whites are eagerly awaiting the return of the Championship as they look to finish the job of returning to the Premier League, however they may have to do it without a key man.Jean-Kevin Augustin is a doubt for the run-in after suffering a hamstring strain, according to Phil Hay of The Athletic.

He tweeted: "Hearing that Jean-Kevin Augustin has suffered a recurrence of his hamstring strain.

"Not confirmed by Leeds but sounds like a set-back for him."

The striker completed a loan switch to Elland Road in the January transfer window following Arsenal's decision to recall Eddie Nketiah from his loan spell.

The 22-year-old was tipped to be a big player for Leeds United this season, but unfortunately that just hasn't happened.

Since moving to West Yorkshire, Augustin has been limited to just three appearances for the Whites.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

Jean-Kevin Augustin's injury will be a big blow for Leeds United.

While first team opportunities have been hard to come by since arriving at the club in January, Marcelo Bielsa will be keen to use his squad as fully as possible as the pile-up of fixtures enters the horizon.

A hamstring strain, depending on the severity, could see the striker ruled out for around 3 weeks - however this could easily be more if it's a serious problem.

That means that Patrick Bamford is all-but guaranteed to continue leading the line for Bielsa's side, while Tyler Roberts will be challenging in reserve.

What it means for the loanee's future at Elland Road remains to be seen, with the jury very much still out on Jean-Kevin Augustin's credentials to compete at this level.
