Pundit and Bundesliga expert Jan Aage Fjortoft insists that Borussia Dortmund have yet to receive a bid for Jadon Sancho and are actively attempting to keep him at the club.

The England international has been heavily linked with a move away in the summer transfer window.

Indeed, Fjortoft replied to a tweet claiming that Manchester United had struck an agreement to sign the winger ahead of the market opening.

He rejected that notion, insisting that there has been no offer for the 20-year-old, and he also claimed that the Bundesliga club are still trying to convince him to remain at Signal Iduna Park.

He wrote: “As for today, there is no deal or offer at Dortmund’s table. Dortmund trying to convince Sancho to stay another year.”

That will come as little surprise; he has scored 17 goals and registered 17 assists in just 28 games thus far this season.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

It must only be a matter of time.

Manchester United have been so heavily linked with Sancho that there one is reminded of the old adage: There is no smoke without fire.

The winger ticks so many of the club’s boxes; he is a marketable star, a world-class player, and is young enough to continue improving.

Any deal would likely prove mightily expensive – Transfermarkt value Sancho at £105.3 million – but if any club can afford it, it is likely to be United.

The 20-year-old has emerged as a genuine superstar in Germany and, having failed to force his way into Manchester City’s starting XI during his first stint in England, he has a point to prove.

Expect this story to pick up steam as the summer continues.
