Arsenal started well and Joe Willock gave them the lead when he coolly slotted home five minutes before half-time.

The hosts couldn’t add to their lead, though, and Tarique Tosu equalised with under 20 minutes remaining.

Arsenal quickly regained their lead through Lacazette’s finish but Brentford hit back again when Halil Dervisoglu sent a low strike into the far post.

Moments before the final whistle, Shandon Baptiste made it 3-2 to Brentford with a fine effort after Arsenal lost possession on the edge of their box.
