Highlights of Arsenal's 3-2 defeat to Brentford have emerged

Arsenal were beaten 3-2 by Brentford in a friendly at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.

The Gunners’ preparations for the restart of the Premier League hit a bump against the Championship squad, despite Mikel Arteta playing a strong team.

In the first half, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Nicolas Pepe, Dani Ceballos and Bernd Leno all played.

Alexandre Lacazette, Mesut Ozil and David Luiz all played in the second.

Yet Arsenal followed up their 6-0 win against Charlton on Saturday with a defeat to Brentford.

The result won’t cause Arteta to lose sleep but it might not be good for the players’ confidence, with their return game coming against Manchester City.

Arsenal have now uploaded the highlights from the game.

Arsenal started well and Joe Willock gave them the lead when he coolly slotted home five minutes before half-time.

The hosts couldn’t add to their lead, though, and Tarique Tosu equalised with under 20 minutes remaining.

Arsenal quickly regained their lead through Lacazette’s finish but Brentford hit back again when Halil Dervisoglu sent a low strike into the far post.

Moments before the final whistle, Shandon Baptiste made it 3-2 to Brentford with a fine effort after Arsenal lost possession on the edge of their box.

Ahead of the game, Arsenal’s players took a knee in support of Black Lives Matter protests.

The Gunners are currently in ninth place, eight points behind the top four.

They will make a push to finish in the Europa League places but it won’t be easy, with fixtures against Man City, Sheffield United, Wolves, Leicester City, Tottenham and Liverpool all to come.
