Liverpool’s return to action is nearing ever closer.
The Reds face Everton in a huge Merseyside derby on June 21st, and they could well win the title on that date.
It would bring an end to an all-too-lengthy drought and would finally crown the best team in England after the COVID-19 pandemic and the delay to the resumption of the Premier League.
Let’s take a look at the best headlines surrounding Jurgen Klopp’s teams.
They’ve been compiled below!
Liverpool could clinch title on Merseyside
Liverpool have been given the all-clear to win the Premier League title at Goodison Park!
The Reds will face their fierce rivals behind closed doors and it has now been confirmed that the game will be played at the Toffees’ stadium, per ESPN.
Klopp’s men need six points to win the title and, if Manchester City are beaten by Arsenal on June 17th, Liverpool could lift the title if they beat Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Otherwise, they will be looking to win the title at Anfield when they face Crystal Palace on the following Wednesday.
Wonderkid signs new deal
Owen Beck has signed his first professional contract at Liverpool, the club’s official website has confirmed.
The 17-year-old came in when he was at U13 level from Stoke City.
A left-back who has been capped at youth level by Wales, Beck has made 14 appearances for the U18s this season and has also played once for the U23s.
The teenager even scored a last-minute winner against Southampton in the Premier League Cup and will now be hoping to go from strength to strength.
Midfielder snubbed the Reds
Maxime Lopez has revealed that he rejected a move to Liverpool when he was 16, per RMC Sport via Sport Witness.
He has claimed that the Reds pulled out all the stops to secure the 22-year-old’s signature when he was a teenager.
He said: “I really hesitated, but I don’t regret it anymore today. I made the right choice.”
Lopez has gone on to make 109 appearances in total for Marseille, scoring four goals and registering 13 assists from his central midfield position.
This season, he has been integral, playing 23 times in Ligue 1.
Adrian hoping to stay
Adrian says he wants to stay at Liverpool this summer, per Radio Sevilla via The London Evening Standard.
The goalkeeper has played 18 times in all competitions this season due to an injury suffered by first-choice stopper Alisson Becker.
And he claims that he intends to stay, although the Standard reports that there may be interest in him from La Liga clubs.
He said: “I see myself at Liverpool at the moment.
“I still have many years of football left, and we will see. I have one more year and another optional one. Right now I wouldn’t change anything to be here in Liverpool and enjoy this beautiful moment. After this moment I honestly don’t know, football is a lot of fun.
“In the summer, I saw myself, being free, the possibility of returning to Betis was there, but it vanished.
“You have to live the present, and we’ll see what happens next. Having to leave home was complicated but looking at it now with perspective it’s clear that I’ve grown as a professional and as a person.”
