Mohamed Salah has been nothing short of sensational since arriving at Liverpool for £37 million in the summer of 2017.
In his debut season, the Egyptian scored a ridiculous 44 goals in 52 appearances in all competitions, smashing all sorts of records in the meantime.
And any suggestions that he was a ‘one-season wonder’ were quickly dismissed last season as he managed 27 strikes, winning the Premier League Golden Boot for a second consecutive season - albeit sharing it with teammate Sadio Mane and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
He also scored in the Champions League final to help Liverpool win their sixth European Cup.
Meanwhile, this season, Salah has got his name on the scoresheet on 20 occasions and is set to help Liverpool win their first ever Premier League title.
Yeah, it was £37 million well spent.
But Salah is more than just an incredible footballer.
He is a national hero in Egypt and has helped in numerous regeneration projects in Nagrig, his hometown where 65% of people live in poverty, donating money to help build a school and hospital.
While in Liverpool, Islamophobia in Liverpool has dropped considerably since Salah’s arrival according to a study.
Over the last two years, there were 18.9 per cent fewer hate crimes than predicted and a 53 per cent fall in anti-Muslim tweets among Liverpool fans.
And earlier this week, Salah showed everyone just what a nice person he is.
According to numerous tweets, the forward turned up at a Sainsbury’s petrol station in his Bentley and full Liverpool training kit and paid for everyone’s fuel.
One fan tweeted: “Mate from work sent us this, salah just paid for everyone’s petrol, sound that.”
Another wrote: @MoSalah proving he’s a beautiful human being - he just paid for my cousin’s petrol!! How kind.”
