Football fans won’t be allowed inside a stadium to watch a match for quite some time due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Supporters are just going to have to accept watching their team on TV for the remainder of the season - and possibly even next season.

However, some Porto fans simply weren’t prepared to accept that as they hosted Maritimo at the Estadio do Dragao.

It was a big game.

Benfica drew yet another match earlier in the evening on Wednesday, 2-2 against Portimonense.

It meant a win for Porto would put them two points clear at the top of the Primeira Liga.

And talking about being on top of things…

A small group of Porto fans decided that while they were banned from being INSIDE the Dragao, they decided to climb ON TOP of it.

No, really.

Fans could be seen sitting on top of the stadium, singing songs and lighting flares as Porto won 1-0 thanks to Jesus Manuel Corona.

Alex Telles received a late red card but Porto held on for a crucial three points.

How on earth did the supporters get up there?

It’s not as though the stadium is small.

Porto’s home has a capacity of 50,033 - the third largest stadium in Portugal.

Now, we’re not condoning that behaviour. It’s obviously incredibly dangerous and let’s hope fans of other clubs don’t get any ideas.

But you really do have to admire the commitment to their side.

It will be interesting to see if Porto are sanctioned because of it and have to play some matches behind closed doors as punishment…oh wait.
