Tottenham are locked in a huge battle to land Serbian wonderkid Dejan Zukic this summer.

That's according to The Daily Star who claim the 19-year-old could be on his way to the Premier League.

Spurs' north London rivals Arsenal are also in the race to sign the teenager, while he faces interest from Everton, Leicester and Southampton too.

The midfielder, who plays for Vojvodina Novi Sad, has been watched by a number of scouts, leading to enquiries from Inter Milan and Olympiacos.

It's suggested that the Lilywhites are the club with the most interest in the youngster who has six goals this season.

No apparent fee is stated in the report, but Transfermarkt seem to think he's out of contract at the end of the current season.

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

Zukic is relatively unknown to the footballing world outside of Serbia but he's already got a healthy reputation.

The teenage prodigy has earned comparisons with one of the most promising midfielders in world football - Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.

The Lazio midfield man is rated at a colossal £57.6m and has been linked with moves to the Premier League in the past, contributing to 12 goals in all competitions this term.

The duo's ability to play in attacking midfield are strongly comparable where Zukic also has the quality to find the back of the net. That, however, largely comes from the attacking attributes he's picked up from playing on the left flank and as a centre forward in 2019/20.

In 38 professional matches, the youngster also has four assists - demonstrating his ability to pick a pass.

It looks as though Daniel Levy has identified a talented player to bring to Spurs in order to bolster their overall squad. Zukic's strongest facet is arguably his versatility and that should come in handy when trying to make it in the Premier League or at a top club in Europe.
