Chelsea could face an uphill battle to strike a deal for Ben Chilwell, according to Oliver Harbord of Football London.

The West London side have been heavily linked with a move for the Leicester City star as they look to bolster their defensive ranks this summer.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed an excellent few years after making his Premier League debut in 2016, with the full-back making over 100 appearances for the Foxes and becoming a regular in the England set-up.

That has led to interest from both Chelsea and Manchester City, but according to Harbord, the challenge that both sides face is matching the valuation of a player who Leicester don't need to sell.

He wrote: "(Ben) Chilwell has been the number one target for some time, and Lampard is a fan of the Leicester City player.

"The problem is that Leicester aren't in a rush to sell him and will certainly look to get every penny they can if Chilwell wants to move.

"If the price is too high, then (Nicolas) Tagliafico and (Alex) Telles could be looked at."

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

Another summer, another key Leicester City player heading for the exit door.

Although in fairness to them, it hasn't done them any harm.

The Foxes have continued to improve every year and are now in a position where they can genuinely be considered as top four contenders every year.

Should Leicester get an offer of £80million for Ben Chilwell, the challenge for them will be using that money to find a suitable replacement, and using the rest of the money to help build the rest of the squad.

They've done it with N'Golo Kante, Riyad Mahrez and Harry Maguire to name a few, and they can do it again.
