Leeds United news round-up: 'Done deal' with Tottenham, Ben White agreement and more

Leeds United are gearing up for the return of the football season with things set to get under way in 10 days time.

Marcelo Bielsa's side currently sit at the top of the Championship and are seven points clear of the play-off spots with nine games to go.

While promotion looks probable at this point, there's still plenty of work to be done to get themselves over the line.

The squad are back at Thorp Arch as they gear up to face Cardiff City on the weekend of June 20, but there's plenty of working being put in off the field as they look ahead to next term.

Here's the latest news to come out of Elland Road in the last 24 hours.

Ben White set to stay at Leeds United.

Ben White will stay at Leeds United until the end of the current season, according to Brighton boss Graham Potter.

The defender has spent the season playing under Marcelo Bielsa and has established himself as a vital part of the team.

Speaking to The Argus, Potter says that White, along with the other Brighton loanees, will have his future decided when the season finally ends.

“All the guys who are on loan will stay and finish their loan spells.

“Then we will us discuss at the end of the season what the next plan is for them.

"Each individual is different, of course, and we will make those decisions at the end of the season.”

Leeds United tipped to sign in-demand Adolfo Gaich

Paul Robinson has backed Leeds United to complete the signing of highly-rated Adolfo Gaich this summer.

The striker is reportedly a target for Leeds, Sevilla, West Brom and Roma with the 21-year-old said to have a release clause of around £15million.

But given the Argentinean frontman's background, Robinson believes that Leeds could be leading the race to complete that deal.

Speaking to MOT Leeds News, Robinson said, “Gaich looks like a top player. Top teams in Europe have been looking at him.

“He’s a big centre forward and his goals-to-games ratio at the moment doesn’t look great.

“He’s only played 23 games in two seasons and he’s got seven goals but he’s got his first Argentinian cap and he looks like the real deal. People have been comparing him to Lewandowski.

“If Augustin lives up to expectations, and you’ve got Patrick Bamford and Gaich as an addition, I think that Leeds could have the edge on teams with Bielsa at the helm.

“He’s the same nationality and it would be a big attraction for a young player like him to come to Elland Road and work under Bielsa.

“Gaich isn’t an unknown quantity. Roma are reportedly looking at him. A lot of top clubs in Europe are looking at him.

"I think Leeds would be ahead of some of the bigger clubs in Europe purely because of the Bielsa factor.”

Leeds United set to sign Juan Foyth from Tottenham Hotspur

Leeds United are set to sign defender Juan Foyth on loan according to two journalists with knowledge of Argentine football.

The Tottenham man has been linked with a switch in recent days but now it looks as though their interested has materialised with a temporary switch well and truly in the offing.

The news was first published by Nicolas Bozza, who tweeted on Wednesday evening.

Translated, his tweet reads as: "The former footballer of #EDLP Juan Foyth will be a reinforcement of Leeds United.

"The centre back of the Argentina National Team will play in the Bielsa team. He has loaned him for a season."

That was then backed up by another journalist, Roy Nemer, who posted a link saying he was "set to join" Leeds on a temporary basis.

Capped ten times by Argentina, it looks as though Victor Orta has wasted no time in potentially preparing Leeds for Premier League life.
