Crystal Palace are still interested in signing Nathan Ferguson.

The Eagles were strongly linked with a move for the defender in January and a deal was agreed of £11m for the full-back to move from West Brom.

However, the deal collapsed at the last minute after the 19-year-old failed his medical at Selhurst Park.

The youngster went onto alienate himself from the squad, not playing a single minute of Championship action following the conclusion of the January window.

Ferguson is still yet to sign a new deal at the Hawthorns and is widely expected to leave.

And it appears as though Palace could still be his next destination after journalist Alan Nixon revealed on Twitter that Roy Hodgson's men were keen.

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

It was unfortunate for all parties that Ferguson wasn't able to seal a switch to London in January.

Ferguson didn't look as though he wanted to stick around so the £11m Slaven Bilic's side were set to get would have bolstered their coffers significantly.

As it happens, they're now set to lose a promising player for absolutely nothing.

Palace will have every right to laugh if they do manage to secure Ferguson's signature - after all, they've needed a replacement for Aaron Wan-Bissaka since he left last summer.

The right-back headed to Manchester United and with it left a glaring hole on the right-hand side of defence.

The Baggies defender can also play at left-back but started four games on the right at the start of the current campaign. He even grabbed an assist on debut against Nottingham Forest.

Ferguson has been a pillar of solidity this term and like Wan-Bissaka, is extremely effective in the tackle - winning 2.4 challenges per game in the second tier. He is also adept at heading the ball, successfully coming out on top of 1.7 aerial battles per match.

It certainly makes sense for Palace to be targeting him again.
