Carl Froch has certainly had a lot to say about Joe Calzaghe over the last couple of months, which in turn, has reignited a war of words between the two rivals.
Whilst Froch was coming through the ranks as a young fighter, Calzaghe was the man at the top at 168 pounds.
The pair had become notorious for trading disses at each other during their careers, but never actually fought. This was due to Calzaghe vacating his three world titles and moving up to the light heavyweight division.
Calzaghe would go on to only have two fights at light heavyweight, those being against Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones. The Welshman then retired from the sport in 2008 with an impressive undefeated record of 46-0, with 32 of those wins by means of knockout.
Froch has recently reignited his rivalry with Calzaghe by listing his top three super middleweights of all time, which he omitted Calzaghe from.
Whilst speaking to Sky Sports, Froch defended his reasoning for leaving Calzaghe out of his top three, stating: "He won the WBO belt on an undercard of a Prince Naseem Hamed fight in Sheffield. He fought an old, faded Chris Eubank, who was weight drained.
"He won the WBO title and then he defended it for 10 years against, I don't even know. I can't remember the names of the guys he fought for 10 years, but he's unbeaten in 46 fights, Hall of Famer. You can't argue with his record, but he had 10 years of mediocrity, defending that title.
"Probably his best win was against an injured Kessler. Many say Jeff Lacy. Let's be honest, Jeff Lacy was a hype job. The Hopkins win was so close and so debatable, I think it was a 55-45 split in Hopkins' favour on the night by all the top Americans.
"Then he fought a totally shot to bits Roy Jones Jr. He even said himself before that in an interview that I read before that, that beating Roy Jones Jr proves nothing, because he's so finished, he's so past his best."
It is clear to see that Froch doesn’t rate Calzaghe at all. One can only wonder how a fight between the two would’ve gone as there is obvious bad blood between the two.
No doubt Calzaghe will offer a response in the not too distant future.
