Manchester United have been revealed as a potential suitor for Aaron Ramsey.

The Welshman is already facing the exit door at Juventus according to the Daily Mail as the Italian side look to cash in on some of their players following the Coronavirus pandemic.

Ramsey only moved to the Turin outfit a year ago after leaving Arsenal on a free transfer and he could be set for a shock return to the Premier League.

Sportsmail understands that two clubs in England have been alerted to his availability this summer.

The 29-year-old is paid a remarkable £400,000-a-week, something that's been claimed will be too steep a wage for United to afford.

Therefore, if they are interested, then Ramsey will presumably have to take quite a sizeable wage cut.

With his current contract at Juventus not set to expire until 2023, United may also have to cough up a hefty fee.

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

It would be quite the fairytale if Ramsey made a move to Old Trafford this summer.

Although he's spent the vast majority of his career at Arsenal, it was United that he nearly signed for all the way back in 2008 when Sir Alex Ferguson was in charge.

At the time, the Wales international was one of the most in-demand youngsters in the country after impressing for Cardiff.

Though, before being confirmed as a Gunners player, the Red Devils actually announced that they'd agreed a fee for the teenager.

It was quite remarkable that he ended up in north London, but the Man United website stated they'd settled on terms with Cardiff. All that was needed, therefore, was for Ramsey to agree himself and sign on the dotted line.

As it happens, he didn't, eventually ending up at Arsenal.

Rather than signing Ramsey for what probably would have been a small fee 12 years ago, they'll now have to stomach what could be a meaty blow to the club's finances.

It's funny how football works sometimes.
