John Cena has announced that he will match a $1 million donation to the Black Lives Matter movement.
The WWE icon turned Hollywood superstar is the latest high profile name to show support for the cause in the wake of George Floyd's death.
Cena explained on Twitter that he will join K-Pop band BTS and its fans in pledging money to Black Lives Matter.
"Very happy to join #BTSARMY in efforts to match [their] tremendous donation #ARMYMatch1M," he wrote, before tweeting a short statement calling for change.
"Change is never easy because it takes us admitting that our efforts and methods may be flawed to a point of severe distortion.
"Be brave and open-minded in these moments. Welcome ideas and limit excuses. Change is uncomfortable but can yield much more joy for all in the long run."
Cena's philanthropy has been well documented of late. Last month, he was linked with a $40,000 donation to Shad Gaspard's crowdfunder, following his tragic death.
The money was left anonymously with the name 'CTC RIP,' which many have linked to Cryme Tyme Cenation, a tag team involving Cena, Gaspard and JTG.
On top of that, the 16-time world champion continued with his Make-A-Wish Foundation efforts during the coronavirus pandemic, visiting 7-year-old David Castle in May.
Cena, of course, is not the only WWE star to show his support for Black Lives Matter.
On Friday's episode of SmackDown, Big E and Kofi Kingston took a knee in the middle of the ring and raised their fists to the air, showing their solidarity for the movement.
A number of other Superstars have also used their platforms to spread awareness for the cause, speaking up on social media.
WWE has been exemplary in its support of tackling racial injustice amid recent events and once again, Cena is one of their figures leading by example.
