Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has hailed Jadon Sancho ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 20-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in recent months and the Reds are credited with an interest in securing his signature, via The Independent

He has scored 20 goals in all competitions this season for Borussia Dortmund and it appears that Henderson has taken notice of just how good his England international team-mate is.

Speaking to Rio Ferdinand’s Five YouTube channel, he said: "A lot of people are speaking about him. He is a top player, a special player, that in training he has got something different and he's sharp and able to get past players with ease.

"Also he's got a good head on his shoulders, he loves football, wants to improve, listen and learn so if he just continues on that path the sky's the limit for him really."

He added: "He just needs to keep working hard and listening to the people around him and keep doing what he's doing. He's been brilliant for Dortmund and England, so he just needs to carry on.”

This might be stating the obvious but it is sure to get Liverpool fans talking.

The fact that Henderson has noticed that Sancho is growing and improving suggests that he would welcome him at Anfield, were a deal to be struck.

A previous le10sport report has claimed that the Reds are at the front of the queue to secure his signature and it would be an incredible statement from the champions-in-waiting.

Sancho and Henderson clearly already have an understanding, so one has to assume that they could link up well on the pitch too.

It remains to be seen if he will end up on Merseyside but this is sure to excite Reds fans.
