The unveiling of the PlayStation 5 this week has left gamers with a decision to make.

Do they opt for the Sony console or Microsoft’s Xbox Series X, which was unveiled last year?

The PlayStation launch showcased a series of games that will be playable on the new console, including Marvel's 'Spider-Man: Miles Morales', 'Gran Turismo 7', 'Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart' and 'Project Athia’.

In addition, a PS5-compatible version of Grand Theft Auto V will be available.

Xbox, meanwhile, have only confirmed two games - ‘Halo Infinite’ and Senua’s Saga ‘Hellblade 2’.

From a specifications standpoint, the new consoles shares some similarities, including near-identical 16GB GDDRG RAM Memory and Blu-ray Drives with 4K definition.

The Xbox has better memory bandwidth and CPU, though.

However, it seems the PlayStation 5 will prove to be the more popular option with 80% of gamers in a GIVEMESPORT poll saying they will purchase a PS5 over a Series X.

That’s an overwhelming success for the Sony console.

Sony are yet to announce the price of the PlayStation 5, but Techradar.com reveal that analysts are predicting it to cost $499 / £449 / AU$749.

With a release date in the 2020 holiday period, the PS5 will no doubt be a popular presence under Christmas trees later on in the year.

The controller features haptic feedback, adaptive triggers, motion sensors, a built-in microphone, in integrated speaker, a headset jack and USB port.
