Manchester United’s return game will see them come up against their former manager, Jose Mourinho.Mourinho’s Tottenham Hotspur will host the Red Devils in a juicy encounter on Friday evening.Man United are still aiming for a top four finish while for Spurs, they have some work to do in order to qualify for the Europa League. And for Mourinho, there’s the added incentive of getting one of the team who sacked him not even midway through the 2018/19 season.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer replaced the Portuguese coach and has done fine, with a mixture of positives and negatives during his reign. However, the jury remains out on whether Solskjaer is Man United’s long-term answer. And Mourinho himself is unconvinced. According to The Athletic, he’s been telling people that Solskjaer might be out of his depth as Man United manager.

Oof. Friday night’s game just got interesting.

When the two managers met earlier in the season, Solskjaer came out on top as Man United sealed a 2-1 win at Old Trafford.

And Mourinho doesn't really have much of a leg to stand on where league placings are concerned.

He's been unable to inspire Tottenham to a top four challenge and work is done to qualify for Europe.

Spurs also aren't in any cup competitions.

This all feels like mind games, then, ahead of Friday's match.
