Tottenham Hotspur have could be lining up a shock move for Aaron Ramsey, according to The Sun.

The Arsenal favourite has been with Juventus for almost a year after leaving the Gunners on a free transfer last summer.

However that stay in Turin could be about to be cut short.

It's claimed that Juventus are facing a series of tough financial decision as a result of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

That means that they could be forced to offload some of their higher earning players in order to reduce costs.

Given the fact that Ramsey is reportedly on £400,000-a-week, this could pave the way for a surprise exit.

A number of Premier League clubs have reportedly been offered the opportunity to sign Ramsey, with Tottenham thought to be one of those targeted.

Of course a move for Aaron Ramsey could have huge ramifications given their close rivalry with his former club Arsenal, whom the midfielder is known to have a real affinity for.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This would be one of the most controversial deals in recent history if it did happen.

Aaron Ramsey is regarded as a real fans' favourite at the Emirates Stadium and his move to Juventus was certainly a sad occasion for many supporters.

After a year away, the link with one of the Premier League's richest clubs certainly makes sense, however I'd be hugely surprised to see this happen.

A deal for a player like Ramsey would not be cheap, and while Jose Mourinho is a big fan, the controversy that it would cause between Arsenal and Tottenham fans would be too much.

A return to the Premier League might make sense, but I can't see this one materialising.
