Football is back and we’re immediately at the business end of the season.

Domestic leagues will be won and lost over the next couple of weeks and we’re in the latter stages of cup competitions when they eventually resume.

It’s all about which teams and which players hit the ground running.

While football all around the world was halted due to the coronavirus pandemic, many leagues are already back up and running.

The Premier League and Serie A will join La Liga and the Bundesliga in returning to action as they conclude the 2019/20 campaign.

While we won’t miss out on any club football in those four leagues, we have been robbed of international tournaments in the form of Euro 2020 and Copa America.

So how has the coronavirus pandemic affected the race to win the 2020 Ballon d’Or?

Well, Goal regularly update us with their Ballon d'Or 2020 Power Rankings to reveal the 20 players most likely to claim the individual award.

Let’s take a look at their latest ranking:

20 |  Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich)

Kimmich’s beautiful chip saw Bayern beat Borussia Dortmund earlier this month as they edge towards yet another league title.

This time next week, Mane and his Liverpool teammates might be Premier League champions. If he can pick up where he left off, he’d be climbing these rankings.
