Tottenham Hotspur are planning a move for Watford man Pervis Estupinan, according to Spanish publication AS.

The left-sided player may not be a household name for the Hornets after joining the club in 2016 after spending three seasons on loan in La Liga.

Estupinan has really impressed for Osasuna this term and that has led to some heavy interest in his signature from some of Europe's biggest clubs.

Along with Spurs, the 22-year-old is reportedly attracting interest from Manchester United Atletico Madrid and Barcelona as his future is set to be decided.

Valued at £6million by Transfermarkt, Estupinan has just one year remaining on his contract at Vicarage Road, and after struggling to break into the first team set-up, it seems that this could be summer that sees him sold on.

Declared for Ecuador's national team, the wing-back is also eligible for Spain after securing duel nationality - a move which also means that he'd have no problem securing a work permit for a summer move.

GIVEMESPORT'S Phil Spencer says...

This would be an incredibly surprising move if it was to come off.

The fact that Pervis Estupinan hasn't been able to establish himself with Watford is surprising given his clear qualities, but that makes this interest even more odd.

Tottenham are certainly not desperate for left-sided players, however it may be the case that a new signing could be seen as a replacement for Danny Rose or Ben Davies - both of whom could move on this summer.

Personally, I'd be surprised if this move came off, but I've been wrong with similar predictions before.
