The Benfica starlet is one of a number of exciting prospects in European football at the moment and looks like he could be on the move this summer.
The 20-year-old is a midfielder with a growing reputation in Portugal after making 29 appearances for his club.
Nicknamed 'the octopus', Luis is renowned for his athletic ability as he breaks up play in central areas before turning defence into attack with his box-to-box play.
Progress from Newcastle United's end is thought to be slow, however, with the ongoing takeover situation meaning that no decisions can yet be made.
This has opened the door for a number of other clubs to make a move, with Leeds United and Manchester City among those to have monitored his progress.
AC Milan are also said to be keen and have held discussions over a season-long loan deal with an obligation to sign the midfielder for £35million next summer.
