Everton are an option for Porto defender Jesus Corona.

That's according to El Universal (via Sport Witness) who claim that both the Toffees and Wolves are viable destinations for the Mexican defender this summer.

Corona's future in Porto is very unlikely with the club in need of money to bolster their finances but they may have to remain patient with concrete interest in the 27-year-old yet to be registered.

Currently valued at £18m by Transfermarkt, the Mexico international has caught the eye of Chelsea but it's reported that they've given up on their pursuit to focus on other targets.

Despite that, England remains a viable option for the next part of Corona's career.

He has been in fantastic form this season, recently scoring in Porto's first game back after a lockdown period due to the Coronavirus.

GIVEMESPORT'S Matt Dawson says...

It remains to be seen what happens with Djibril Sidibe, currently on loan from Monaco, but someone of Corona's ilk would surely be an ideal replacement, especially for a side who have relied on the attacking presence of Seamus Coleman in the last decade.

The Irishman has 28 assists and 26 goals during his Toffees career but at the age of 31, he is no spring chicken.

Those numbers might be an impressive record but Corona's stats are even better, certainly in terms of this season.

He has 17 assists in 2019/20, a tally that betters even Trent Alexander-Arnold, a player that is renowned for his dangerous and teasing final ball. The Liverpool full-back has 14 in comparison this season.

That gives a fine indication of the type of player Corona is, someone who can also play further forward on the right-wing if necessary.

His attacking stats are a sight to behold, registering ten of his assists while playing further back in defence while his defensive numbers are impressive too - winning 2.1 interceptions per match in the Europa League.
