Leicester City are considering a move for Lyon striker Moussa Dembele, per France Football via Sport Witness.

Manager Brendan Rodgers is said to be planning for the summer, earmarking the France U21 international as a possible acquisition in the transfer window.

The 23-year-old has been in superb form since his move to Lyon, scoring 42 goals in 88 games for the club.

Of course, Rodgers coached Dembele during his time at Celtic, and he is considering a swoop in the summer.

However, Dembele is not said to be completely convinced by a potential move to the King Power Stadium at this point.

Dembele has a contract until 2023 and is valued at £36 million by Transfermarkt; he has scored 22 goals in all competitions this term.

GIVEMESPORT’S Harry Sherlock says…

Dembele is a superb talent and this makes sense for Rodgers.

Indeed, Jamie Vardy is approaching the twilight of his career – he will turn 34 next year – and bringing in another pacey hitman with an uncanny eye for goal is logical.

Dembele may not be convinced at this point but one has to imagine that if Leicester qualify for the Champions League, his mind may well change.

Dembele has previously been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea but the Foxes could steal a march on their rivals given the history between Rodgers and the Frenchman.

This could well turn into a transfer saga this summer.
